Turbocharger Overhauling Procedure has been performed as the following:

1. 1. Carefully check and read the manufacturer’s instruction booklet.
2. 2. Prepare, checking all special tools, measuring tools and equipment, necessary chain blocks and lifting materials.
3. 3. Remove out air filters.
4. 4. Drain out lubricating oil.
5. 5. Visual checking condition inside, outside of the Turbocharger.

1. 6. To take measurements and record them prior to the rotor dismantling for axial clearances and radial clearances.
2. 7. Disassembling, withdraw out all the individual parts such as lubricating oil pump (both end), bearings, turbine and compressor wheels, nozzle ring etc.
3. 8. Withdraw out Turbine rotor.
4. 9. Meticulous cleaning for all the individual parts.
5. 10. Visual inspection, inspection measurements and the condition of all the parts to be summited reports/records.
6. 11. Rotor alignment check, dye penetration testing is to be carried out before the dynamic balancing. Reports/Records for dynamic balancing works have to issued  and summited as overhauling documentation.
7. 12. Dynamic Balancing Rotor if needed.
8. 13. Issue the spare parts need to replaced. Reassembling complete turbocharger according to the marker's instructions.

10. 14. Axial clearances and radial clearances such as to be measured and issued records/reports.
11. 15. Submitted all overhauling/ dynamic balancing reports/records before/ after overhauling and to be kept on board and sent to Ship Owner. Photographic reports also submitted on final documents.
12. 16. Finally, the turbocharger performance test is carried out, during sea trials.
